Eco friendly salad bowls

Spring is just around the corner, Easter is on its way and the idea of getting together with family and friends will soon be a thing again. Really! It may not feel like it right now, but it will. In the meantime, you may be coping with home-schooling, working from home and support bubbles all of which come with their own complications.

A step in the right direction

As the world gets back to a “new normal” many of us have been thinking about making changes to how we live. These things are never simple but little steps can make all the difference and we hope our eco-friendly salad bowls are just one small way you can create a better lifestyle at the same time as making your life a little bit easier.

Snacks and school experiments

Having to home-school kids has thrown a lot of us in the deep end, but rather than getting bogged down with endless washing up on top of everything else, serve snacks in our eco-friendly, disposable salad bowls, set yourself up with some healthy snacks at your desk or enjoy picnics on the living room floor with the kids.

Better still, why not give the bowls a quick wipe down after lunch and use our salad bowls to conduct your own science and art projects! Measure water, sand or flour with them. Practice motor and balancing skills by transferring water from one to another, use them as paint pots or for crafting materials and draw around them for maths. They’re also great once you’ve measured out your cooking ingredients if you are cooking with your children and because they look so nice, they will look great on Instagram or photographed for that school project showing off what you’re making.

Eggs galore

Let’s face it, for most of us, last Christmas was a bit of a non-event and we know lots of you are hoping to be able to get together at Easter instead. With the weather turning warmer, picnics and outside dinning will be a great way of getting together but still maintaining social distancing. Our bowls are perfect for this and will work with everything from sausage rolls to mountains of chocolate mini eggs!

Once you’ve finished the picnic, send the kids off around the garden with a bowl to discover even more hidden eggs. You could even try floating flowers in our bowls for a natural decoration like we have on our website. We think they look gorgeous and will create a picnic spread that is stylish but disposable!

Pack up your troubles

Staycations and glamping are likely to be here for a while after the pandemic and once again, our eco-friendly bowls come into their own. They come in a range of sizes and are very easy to stack and pack. They are suitable for everything from milk on your cereal for breakfast in your tent in the garden, a portable drinking bowl for the dog, or soup in front of the campfire. And when you’re ready to roll home, you can throw them on the compost rather than taking home a stack of dirty crockery to wash!

It’s spooky

Autumn may seem a long way off, but don’t forget you can also fill our sturdy bowls with trick or treat sweets or make blood curdling Halloween jelly and spaghetti worms for those unsuspecting Halloweeners! Better still, no washing up to do at the end of the evening although you could re-use them for steaming hot bowls of baked spuds and chilli con carne on Guy Fawkes night!

But are our bowls really that eco-friendly?

Yes, they are! Our salad bowls are made from the fallen leaves of Areca palm trees. These trees naturally shed their leaves several times a year. Once collected by locals, they are moulded into bowls and dried in the sun using no chemicals or artificial ingredients. The result is that they are sustainably and ethically made and are 100% organic, biodegradable, and compostable.

Are they good enough for the job?

Again, yes, they are! We know that the last thing you need is a bowl that goes floppy. So, one of the reasons we chose palm leaves is because they are sturdy and durable. They don’t absorb moisture, they don’t go soggy and because they are nice and thick, it reduces heat transfer.

There’s lots of ways you can use our bowls without generating a heap of horrible plastic! And because you can wipe them clean to reuse or throw them on the compost heap, it makes them one less thing for you to worry about. Why not order yours today or have a look at the full range on our website.
